This is the BEST AREA to stay in Dublin, Ireland. Located in Dublin, this iconic luxurious 5-star hotel is known for its fine dining, splendidly prepared afternoon tea, and beautiful architecture.
This right here is a Dublin luxury hotel. The Shelbourne has been at the center of the city’s social and cultural life for nearly 200 years. So when you are thinking about a staycation in Dublin next month (I secretly mean this weekend), look no further!
The hotel even comes with a health club and spa, including a 19m swimming pool, thermal room, 7 treatment rooms, a dance studio, and a well-equipped gym. There is an in-house salon that provides haircuts, facials, manicures, and pedicures.
You know when you had a tough week and you get to Friday morning, your first thought is “I’m treating myself to something this weekend!”. I say if you can afford it, book this place for some much-deserved solo me-time!

Located in one of Dublin’s most affluent areas, InterContinental is a luxurious 5-star hotel with elegant interiors, a 14m pool, and surrounded by 2 acres of gardens.
The food here is to die for, with some award-winning dishes and international cuisine. The highest quality ingredients are used and a beautiful courtyard for you to enjoy your morning or afternoon coffee with a wee pastry…okay a few pastries!
The location is undeniably a HUGE bonus – Dublin city center can be reached in 10 minutes by car, and Herbert Park is a 5-minute walk.

Located in County Meath which is 35km from Dublin, Skryne Castle has amazing terrace and garden views.
Built-in 1142, I would allocate this as a 3 to 4-star stay with a nearby 9-hole golf course handy!

4. Roisin Dubh Houseboat
Situated in Sallins, this is a fully equipped boat with an open-plan kitchenette, a seating area, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. There is an open-plan kitchen with some seating area, a bedroom, and a bathroom.
In terms of distance, Dublin is 29km away and Carlow is 49km away, with the nearest airport being Dublin International Airport, which is 34km away.
I would highly rate this as a 10/10 for a 2-person romantic getaway. There is coarse fishing within the vicinity, if you have a license and it is in the season.

Home to Ireland’s only warm springs, the Hotwell House is part of a 200-year-old Georgian farmhouse and has 4 stylish and rustic-looking bedrooms.
There is a beautiful garden and farm within the vicinity and an air of absolute relaxation. In terms of amenities, it comes with a well-equipped kitchen, 4 bathrooms, and a huge dining area.
It even has the luxurious feel of a Tempur-Pedic bed with Egyptian cotton sheets. Definitely my kinda heaven! Hotwell House has been marked as a 4-star accommodation.

12. Roseanne’s Seaside Cottage (County Louth)
Located in County Louth in a small town called Whitestown, this is a traditional Irish cottage smack in front of the seashore.
Honestly, how much more serene can this get? It is 5km from a busy village and as you will have it, traditional Irish music pubs to comfort your soul at night. The owners have refurbished the place to have a wood-burning stove and central heating. Treat yourself to a Dublin Staycation at Roseanne’s Seaside Cottage.
There is plenty of parking, and the place sleeps 6 people. With the beach just at your doorstep, you can hear the waves, walk the coastline, and drop by a fairly small pub called Lily Finnegans Pub. This is more of a “leave the city for peace of mind” place.
